The first complete Uttar Kannada based television serial – artists, locations, culture, heritage etc are now in ‘Mahasathi’ in the flagship of Sunil Puranik in Udaya TV – top actress Shruthi is brand ambassador of this mega television serial. The title song is penned by Yogaraj Bhat and sung by Raghu Dixit in his composition.

Sunil Puranik a big name in television industry has caught hold of a real life happening for his script. It is a development in the two traditional families. The widow remarriage is the central attraction but it has various elements attached.

‘Mahasathi’ telecast at 6 pm from Monday to Friday from June 27 in Udaya TV is shot in a Vaade in Bailhongal and the team of this mega serial has camped in an apartment nearby. Puranik has concentrated more on ‘Banna and Bhaashe’. 14 main characters are from Uttar Kannada districts. He has traveled 8 districts for audition and location hunting. His son Sagar Puranik stands to his support in ‘Mahasathi’. It is difficult to win with such nativity throughout he says.  Mahasathi has a caption ‘Sathulla Shilavathi’ – the caption carries a good meaning. The ‘Sheela’ is not physical but mental observes Sunil Puranik.

The protagonist of this mega serial Vinay has left his software job in Accenture while the female protagonist Aishwarya is an engineering graduate also making debut.

According to Udaya TV head Sudheendra the promise is not broken. We are coming with more originals. Aramane, Sundari and Meenakshi Maduve are doing well. In the coming days we have ‘Kick’ dance based program with Dr Shivarajakumar, Rachita Ram and Harsha Ananda Bharavi that is shooting in Kashi.

The main couple of ‘Mahasathi’ are Yashwanth Sardeshpande and Malathi Sardeshpande. Yashwath has negative shade. Malathi plays the role that is befitting to her home ground Uttar Kannada.
